Assistant Consultant Mental Health

Education:

• PhD in Graduation from a Medical school recognized by NGHA. E
• Successful completion of a structured accredited Residency Training Program in Psychiatry acceptable to the NGHA. E
• Certification by the appropriate Psychiatry Board approved by the Saudi Council of Health Specialties and acceptable to the NGHA. E
• Superior or above average performance in areas of patient care and teaching/training activities. E

Main duties & Responsibilities: 

1. To provide high standard patient care in accordance with the NGHA mission, vision and values under the supervision of a consultant/Associate Consultant, Division of Mental Health.
2. To provide inpatient care for the psychiatry patients admitted to the hospital under the name of the Consultant/Associate Consultant with whom he/she works.
3. To participate in the delivery of health care to psychiatry patients in the ambulatory care setting under the supervision of a consultant. The Division Head of Mental Health determines the size and frequency of this participation.
4. To perform diagnostic and/or therapeutic interventions and procedures for which he/she has been granted specific privileges based on his/her training, qualification, experience according to the specific privileging condition approved by the Department and the organization.
5. To participate in on call coverage of the psychiatry service in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Division of Mental Health, the Department of Medicine and the organization.
6. To actively participate in the Quality improvement program of the Division of Mental Health and the Department of Medicine
7. To provide close supervision of the clinical performance of staff physicians and physicians in training (interns, residents, and fellows) in the Division of Mental Health
8. To participate in scientific research, contribute into the Division of Psychiatry and Department of Medicine educational activities and postgraduate training programs, and to serve in committees as directed by the Division Head of Psychiatry, Department Chairman or the Executive Management of the organization.
9. To perform other relevant duties and charges as directed by the Division Head of Mental Health or the Chairman of the Department of medicine.
10. To comply with all the professional and ethical standards and express adherence to the Medical Staff By Laws of the organization.
