Medical Technologist I

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct variety of laboratory procedures which are both routine, moderate and highly complex and analyze specimen using the established laboratory techniques on both manual and automated equipment.
• Analyze laboratory computer applications to manage data. Ensure laboratory results and findings are accurately logged. Identify technical, instrumental and/or physiological causes of unexpected test results.
• Ensure optimal utilization of resources such as laboratory materials, reagents and supplies and ensure its availability; monitor, implement and document quality control procedures and preventive maintenance; operate and calibrate laboratory equipment; troubleshoot instrument malfunctions; report faults and problems through the appropriate channels; ensure safe, clean and efficient working systems/area.
• Provide assistance to immediate supervisor, if required, by monitoring team areas work performance; supporting and guiding team members in making laboratory related decisions and ensuring implementation of departmental guidelines; developing guidelines, procedures and methodologies; maintaining and evaluating equipment/new equipment within the assigned area.
• Participate in educational and professional growth activities related to the assigned area including teaching, training verification, competency testing and continuing medical education activities.
• Perform all relevant duties in accordance with the Joint Commission of International Accreditation (JCIA), Saudi Central Board for Accreditation of Healthcare Institutions (CBAHI), College of American Pathologists (CAP), American Associate of Blood Banks (AABB), program’s policies including laboratory and safety standards.

Registration with Saudi Commission for Health Specialties – Essential

Work Experience - Minimum of 3 (three) years of practical experience in any of the following sections: Point of Care Testing, Clinical Chemistry, or Micr​obiology – Essential

English Language Level – I – Essential
