Job Description
Principle Duties :
1. He is governed by the responsibilities outlined in the Medical Staff Bylaws.
2. Provides a high quality medical care to patients particularly in the area of otolaryngology, Head & Neck as inpatient and outpatient and operative surgery.
3. Operate in the OR within his approved privileges.
4. Physically present in the OR to assess and supervise his assistant to conduct surgery when his assistant has no approved privileges to carry out the procedure under the category of Solo in the privilege form.
5. Expect to be present in the working vicinity during normal working hours.
6. To be available for contact at any time while in town.
7. Performs administrative duties as assigned and other duties as needed.
8. Provides consultative service as requested.
9. Participates in the department's educational activities, training programs and division meetings.
10. Participates in research activities.
l l . Shares on-call schedule for the Division of ENT, and communication sciences as needed.
12. Elicits and records information about patient's medical history,
13. Examines affected organs,
14. Determines nature and extent of disorder.
15. Prescribes and administers medications, or performs surgery.
16. Performs tests to determine extent of loss of hearing due to aural or other injury.
17. Performs test to determine extent of speech loss as result of diseases or injuries to larynx.
18. Follows all hospital related policies and procedures.
19. Responsible for submitting approved TRA by the Section Head, to block his clinic or provide approved coverage by completing the clinic blocking form through the proper chain of command and blocking the OR prior to submitting the TRA to the Chairman for final approval. Ensure approval of proper TRA by the Chairman before going on leave.
20. Meet the CME requirements of Saudi specialization.
21. Maintain the spirit of teamwork in the Division of ENT.
22. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education:
Graduate from a medical school recognized by NGHA. (Essential)
Successful completion of a structured, accredited residency training program acceptable to NGHA. (Essential)
Certification by the appropriate specialty board approved by the Saudi Council for Health Specialties and acceptable to NGHA. (Essential)
Work Experience:
Total experience training and post-training should be equal to, or more than, seven (7) years.
The candidate should have a minimum of two (2) years experience in a tertiary care center in ENT Surgery after certification. Of this, at least one year should be abroad in a program acceptable to NGHA. (Essential)
