Job Description

rinciple Duties:
l . Attends & performs clinical patient care shift duties, of his assigned shift area in the ED (Triage, AC & UCC). Commensurate with his / her education, experience, credentialing and job description.
2. Adhere to hospital / departmental regulations pertaining to essential physician ED Chart documentation, utilization of personal I.D. stampers and MISYS electronic medical records applications.
3. Assists; as requested, in the design, implementation, reviews and updates of Policies & Procedures for the ED every 2 years.
4. Orients and keeps himself updated (initially & periodically after return from annual vacations) regarding the most currently revised hospital and department policies, procedures, standards and rules.
5. Orients, advises & updates members / colleagues in the ED regarding the most currently revised hospital and department policies, procedures, standards and regulations.
6. Keeps his certification status (BLS, ACLS, ATLS and PALS) updated as well as maintaining his required CME&T Credits for the Saudi Council for Health Specializations (SCHS).
7. Participates; as requested, in the implementation of the ED Performance Improvement Plan ( PIP); criteria, standards & indicators to evaluate, monitor, and implement changes and re-evaluates changes to improve the quality and appropriateness of practice provided by the department; in accordance with JCLA standards.
8. Attends and participates in the monthly meetings; departmental staff meetings, mortality and morbidity and quality improvement.
9. Attends and participates in the periodic ED Staff Physicians meetings or other ad-hoc meetings; as requested
10. Attends and participates in assigned departmental & hospital committees.
ll. Self-Monitors, interprets and reports concerning statistics, productivity, utilization, and meeting established departmental indicators and standards.
12. Liaison & coordination with Patient Relations Officers & or Supervisor on patient complaints, sick leave issuance, medical report issuance & follow-up.
13. Assists in conducting annual performance appraisals of ED department staff as requested by ED Chairman.


Bachelor in Medicine and Surgery or equivalent (Essential)

Registration with the Saudi Council for Health Specializations {SCHS) and current license to practice medicine in Saudi Arabia. —E


 2 years experience working in Emergency Departments or urgent care units (Essential)


English language: level I- Essential.  Arabic Language:   Essential .   Computer skills: proficient level
