Anesthesia Technician I

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for specific case-by-case preparation for all Anesthetic procedures, to include all general anesthetic, all regional anesthetic standby procedures and any other related anesthetic invasive procedures.
• Under the direct supervision of Anesthesiologists, responsible for routine insertion of all intravenous infusions in the operating room, and for initial application of all non-invasive Anesthesia related patient monitoring.
• Under direct supervision of Anesthesiologist, perform airway maintenance and straightforward endotracheal intubation, as well as insertion of straightforward arterial catheterization.
• Provide assistance in positioning patients for all Anesthetic and surgical procedures.
• Upon the request and under the direct supervision of Anesthesiologists, responsible for drawing of any Anesthesia related venous or arterial blood samples.
• Responsible for ordering blood and blood products under direct supervision of Anesthesiologists; appropriate checking and administration of blood products.
• Provide transportation assistance to patients to and from all Anesthesia related areas, to include operating rooms, recovery areas, all intensive care units and any other relevant areas.
• Responsible for routine daily, weekly and monthly maintenance and cleaning of all Anesthesia related equipment. Ensure safe and efficient working equipment and report faults and problems through the appropriate channels.
• Responsible for routine daily, weekly and monthly care and cleaning of all Anesthesia related storage and work areas, to include Operating Suite, Labor and Delivery, burn Unit, Lithotripsy MRI, Angio, Endoscopy, Liver/Kidney Transplantation and any other designated Anesthesia areas.
• Responsible for proper daily restocking, distribution and storage of Anesthesia consumables and pharmaceutical items in all designated areas.
• Ensure all work is in line with the standard of clinical practice, relevant policies and procedures and regulating and accrediting bodies.
• Perform other job related duties.

•  Safe Practices related to PPE (Personal Protection Equipment)
•  Operating in safe manner to reduce risk of injuries

Registration with Saudi Commission for Health Specialties – Essential

English Language Level– I – Essential

Diploma Degree in Anesthesia or related field from an accredited institution – Essential
