Assistant Consultant Oral Maxillofacial Surgery

Education:

• PhD or Board Certificate in OMFS or related discipline/area from an accredited institution - E
• Bachelor Degree Dental Surgery or equivalent from an accredited institution - E
• Must have a valid registration as Specialist in SCHS. E

Work Experience:

Minimum (1) year of clinical experience in a recognized institution or equivalent

Main duties & Responsibilities: 

1. He/she governed by the responsibilities outlined in the Medical Staff By-Laws.
2. Provide high quality of surgical care consistent with his/her experience and based on the approve privileges.
3. Operate in the OR within his /her approved privileges.
4. Guide residents during rounds and have a clear vision about the cases especially those being admitted under the specialty service.
5. Carry certain tasks including starting and finishing certain surgical cases to be judged by the Section Head.
6. Works under the supervision of the Section Head of OMFS or designee.
7. Allowed primary care responsibilities as defined by the supervisor who may also take over aspects of the cases.
8. Participate in research as required & Participate as clinical and didactic instructor in OMFS in all training programs as required.
9. Perform other job related duties and as directed by the Chairman or Deputy Chairmen, Dental Services, KAMC
