Assistant Consultant Pediatric Emergency Medicine

Education:

• Bachelor Degree in MBBS; Medical Practitioner who is Pediatric Emergency Medicine Trained and Pediatric or Emergency Board Certified; Saudi, Arab, U.S.A. or Canada.
• Registered in Saudi Council for Health Specialization (SCHS) and current license to practice in medicine in Saudi Arabia - E
• Fellowship in pediatric Emergency Medicine

Work Experience:

Minimum of one (1) year (post board) – P

Main duties & Responsibilities:  

1. Assists in the oversight of the daily operation of his/her assigned shift in the PED ER (Triage, UCC, Resus &Acute Care). Commensurate with his / her education, experience, credentialing and job description.
2. Assists in developing departmental goals and objectives.
3. Assists in the design, implementations, reviews and updates of Policies and Procedures for the PEDER every 2 years.
4. Orients and keeps himself updates (initially & periodically after return from annual vacations) regarding the most currently revised hospital and department policies, procedures, standards and rules.
5. Orients, advices & updates members / colleagues in PEDER regarding the most currently revised hospital and department policies & procedures, standards and regulations.
6. Assists in delegating appropriate duties & responsibilities to staff within the department commensurate with their education, experience and job description.
7. Assists and leads in training and education of junior staff to maintain skill levels.
8. Participates and leads in the implementation of medical contingency disaster plans in PEDER; including Medical operations oversight, emergency response and medical evacuation during his/her clinical shift.
9. Perform other duties as assigned by the Chairman, Department of Pediatric Emergency Medicine which are within the post-holder's qualifications and capabilities
