Principle Duties:
1. To participate in patient care for patients admitted to the hospital under the Division of Neonatology.
2. To participate in on-call coverage for the various units of the Division (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Intermediate Care Nursery, and Admission Nursery) in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Division of Neonatology and the Department of Pediatrics, accepting the inconveniences associated with patients' needs during the on-call coverage and discussing patient management with the Neonatology Consultant on duty.
3. To provide consultation services to other divisions within the Department and other, departments within the organization during the regular work and on-call hours according to the Department's Policies and Procedures and discuss the management with Neonatology Consultant on duty.
4. Attend newborn deliveries as well as neonatal emergencies as indicated (required).
5. To actively participate in the quality improvement program of the Department of Pediatrics.
6. To provide close supervision of the clinical performance of subordinates and to act as a role model.
7. To take full responsibilities of the Division's and hospital's administrative tasks that are assigned. This may include division or hospital standing and ad-hoc committees or representation of the Division on committees and/or activities outside the hospital.
8. To participate in scientific research and contribute to the department's educational activities and postgraduate training programs as per the Department's Policies and Procedures.
9. To regularly participate in educational activities in order to acquire new skills and knowledge and to support career advancements.
10. To advocate for the health needs and well being of children and their families.
ll. To adhere to all the rules and regulations of the Division of Neonatology, Department of Pediatrics, and the organization. Associate Consultants are expected to familiarize themselves and comply with both the APPs and DPPs.
12. To perform other relevant duties and charges as directed by the Head of the Division of Neonatology or the Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics.
13. To comply with all professional and ethical standards and express adherence to the Medical Staff By-Laws of the organization.
Education: • MBBS or equivalent
• Saudi Board of Pediatrics or equivalent
Work Experience: Minimum of 2 years Neonatology experience and 2 years fellowship program in a Level 3 Unit.
Life Support Training: Training and (re)certification in basic life support (BLS) and neonatal resuscitation program (NRP) every 2 years
المهارات
English Language Skills: Essential- Level I.
Arabic Language Skills: Preferred.
Computer Skills: Preferred/Basic Level 4.
