Education

Graduated from an accredited Medical School from Saudi Arabia with Bachelor Degree of Medicine or equivalent.

Certification/Licenses/Qualifications:

Must have completed an approved Saudi or Arab Board or Europe or North American accredited Residency Programme with certification by the relevant Saudi, North American or equivalent Board in Internal Medicine or Anesthesia.

Must have completed an approved Saudi or Europe or North American Accredited Fellowship Programmed in subspecialty of Critical Care Medicine and/or certification by the relevant North American or equivalent board.

Work Experience

Must have at least three years’ experience post-board Certification in Adult Surgical and Medical Intensive Care, preferably one year out of the three years in Adult Cardiac Intensive Care.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Principal Duties

• Provides high quality care to patients in this area of medicine.
• Fulfill On-call duties.
• Provide advice on manpower, equipment and administration issues.
• Provides consultative services as requested.
• Supervise fellows, staff/assistant physicians and residents.
• Actively participate in the training and teaching of residents and fellows in his area of expertise.
• Participates in research activities.
• Participates in committees and other administrative functions as needed.
• Performs special procedures as privileged.
• Follows all hospital-related policies and procedures.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Fulfill the criteria of SCCM of definition of Consultant Intensivist.

Conditional Duties: (If Board Certified or equivalent Cardiac Anesthesia)

• Must be flexible in covering Cardiac Anesthesia needs in the department.
• Adult Consultant Cardiac Anesthetist share in the coverage off CSICU for Adult Cardiac patients
• Provide high quality cardiac anesthesia care to the patient clientele.
• Supervise anesthetists of lower grades, with particular reference to staff physicians.
• Teach and supervise residents in the Cardiac Anesthesia Residency Program
