Consultant Neuropathology (Al-Qassim)

Main duties & Responsibilities: 

1. Assumes overall responsibility for the quality of service provided by the designated Laboratory Specialty, Division or Section.
2. Complies with the Joint Commission International (JCI), American Association of Blood Banks (AABB), College of American Pathologists (CAP), Saudi Central Board for Accreditation of Health Care Institutions (CBAH5), ISO 15189, National Guard Laboratory & Hospital Standards. Ensure they are maintained and continuously improved.
3. Introduce new tests as per the needs of the current disease status in the National Guard Health Affairs, and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia based on recent literature and evidence-based medicine. Tests should include the recent technology discovered in updated literature & ensures safety and relevance of these tests to patient care, management.
4. Oversees and actively participates in training programs for staff: Medical technologist, students, interns, residents, fellows, and participates in continuing education for all staff and physicians,
5. Serve on National Hospital and Departmental committees as assigned by Chairman and /or Medical Services.
6. Ensures medical coverage is available at all times.
7. Oversees and actively participates in quality improvement process of daily routine work,
8. Cooperate with other department sections to advance molecular tests for patient sample using new technologies and science discoveries.
9. Update reporting format of all specimens according to most recent disease classifications and most recent needed data to ensure patient care is delivered up to highest standard compared to developed countries.
10. Encourages, cooperate and participates in approved research activities.
11. Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Chairman.

Education:

Must be a graduate of a recognized medical school and Saudi Board of Anatomic Pathology or equivalent with appropriate valid licensure to practice. - Essential

Work Experience:

Minimum of 2 years' experience in a CAP accredited laboratory after board certification; this may include subspecialty training. Subspecialty training is mandatory- Essential
