MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate and perform second on-call physician for monthly roster (Pediatric Cardiology).
- Perform as a consultant in the various cardiac specialties, i.e. interventional and diagnostic cases, invasive, non-invasive cases, non-interventional cases and cardiac imaging as per his or her appointment.
- In-charge of assigned academic activities, i.e. journal presentation, pediatric cardiology lectures, etc.
- Perform as a Consultant-in-charge as delegated in the covered specialty area.
- Participate/serve in the various hospital or departmental committee as directed.
- Participate in the educational programs/activities as well as any graduate/postgraduate education that might develop.
- Supervise and evaluate residents rotating in the pediatric cardiac services.
- Participate in the various hospital/departmental medical reviews and investigations.
- Supervise and involve in the research study/works of the junior staff.
- Must be flexible to cover other duties as needed by members of the staff.
- Participate in the Quality Improvement Management.
- Must strictly adhere to hospital and medical protocols, policies, and regulations.
- Role model for junior staff in academic, clinical, social and ethical aspects.
- Ensure delivery of pediatric cardiology services on a higher professional level.
- Perform other duties as delegated by the Chairman of Cardiac Sciences or Head Section

- Must be familiar with the techniques and range of equipment used in current medical practice for diagnostic treatment and cardiac patients’ care

- Expected to make proper clinical decisions and to provide guidance, advice to subordinate staff on work related matters

- Coverage during emergencies, disasters, other unplanned unprecedented occasions
- Occasional overtime, on call, weekend, holidays work might be required
- Safe Practices related to PPE (Personal Protection Equipment)
- Operating in safe manner to reduce risk of injuries
Education
- Graduate of a recognized medical school and/or postgraduate degrees or equivalent units.
- Training and certificates of specialty either American or North American Board in Pediatrics or equivalent.
- Successful completion of accredited sub-specialty Fellowship Program in Pediatric Cardiology acceptable to National Guard Health Affairs and certification by the appropriate sub-specialty Board of which it exists.
- An active registered member of the Saudi Board Council (a must).
- An affiliation to cardiology organization/societies (local/international).
Work Experience
At least one (1) year clinical experience as Consultant Pediatric Cardiologist in a recognized Pediatric Cardiology Unit or centre
