Echocardiographic Technologist III

• Responsible for assisting in conducting echocardiographic procedure on patients as required and ensuring all work is in line with standards of clinical practice, patient safety, policies and procedures, and regulating and accrediting bodies.
• Assist in preparing patients, diagnostic equipment and materials used for imaging procedures. Assist in collecting and reviewing pertinent medical, historical, and medication information in order to perform the appropriate study prescribed by the physician, verify patient’s identity, explain the procedures to patients/families, and notify physician when immediate medical attention is necessary based on patient’s conditions.
• Participate in operating, calibrating and maintaining diagnostic equipment; protecting and helping patients; recording relevant images; and preparing preliminary echo reports for final interpretation of the physician.
• Adopt clinical protocol in handling various patients’ health conditions, ensure “As Low As Reasonably Achievable” (ALARA) principles of imaging is applied. Assist in performing intraoperative TEE and intra-procedural TTE as appropriate.
• Ensure optimal utilization of resources; implement quality improvement to achieve optimal patient results. Ensure safe and efficient working equipment, reporting faults and problems through the appropriate channels. • Attend and participate in echo lab educational and professional growth activities; promote a positive and collaborative atmosphere with members of the healthcare team; attend departmental and other meetings, as required. • Participate in standby and on call staffing for pediatric echo service, as appropriate for education, training and experience. • Maintain all records pertaining to echocardiographic unit.

Education

Bachelor Degree in Echocardiography, Cardiovascular Sciences/Technology or related discipline from an accredited institution – Essential
Basic Life Support Certificate – Essential
Registration with Saudi Commission for Health Specialties – Essential
Work Experience

Minimum of 1 (one) year position-related practical experience in similar environment – Essential
