Instrument Technician

• Organize standard equipment and position the corresponding devices and supplies according to equipment locator list. Transport general and specialized equipment (such as camera towers, operating room tables, tourniquets, microscopes, electrical surgical units and drill tanks) to the required area for necessary surgical procedures or daily operational use of the specific equipment.
• Ensure that all general and specialized equipment, such as, positioning devices and unsterile supplies are provided ahead of time as required for each are of assignment. Inspect and return all equipment to storage areas.
• Communicate effectively with each member of staff regarding equipment/supplies requirements for routine and specific cases. Organize equipment storage by labeling shelves and preparing locator lists. Provide assistance to the surgical team and other designated personnel as requested with regard to specific equipment.
• Inspect all equipment for damage, wear and functionality, identify items of concern as appropriate for preventive maintenance or replacement. Perform routine and preventive maintenance of equipment due/date and coordinate with Healthcare Technology Management.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment and report major repair requirements. Collaborate with Material Management, Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD), Supply Coordinator, Healthcare Technology Management and other departments as needed to ensure proper storage, sterilization, supply, and repairs.
• Prepare equipment and supplies for use of the healthcare team in the assigned area. Maintain record and inventory of all related medical equipment and supplies. Clean and prepare equipment as per the manufacturer’s specifications.
• Responsible for disassembling of medical equipment, cleaning, reassembling and preparing for re-use. Maintain equipment room in tidy orderly manner. Assist in orientation of new staff on the use of standard equipment, set-up and storage, participate in teaching and mentoring of students and graduate technicians. • Ensure that all work is performed in compliance with the organization and department’s standards, policies and procedures and quality improvement processes and activities. • Perform other job related duties as required.

Work Experience:
Minimum of 4 (four) years position-related practical experience – Essential

NASCDP - Nursing -Allied Health Saudi Career development (Training program) 

Diploma Degree in Biomedical Technology or related
