وصف الوظيفة
• Participate in the development of optimal treatment strategies that result in attainable radiation therapy including localization of tumor volumes, critical structure, generation of isodose distributions, and performance of dose calculations according to the written directive.
• Evaluate the patient data via computer-generated sets from medical imaging devices such as Computed Tomography (CT), Position Emission Tomography (PET), Magnetic Resonance (MR) or manual methods such as physical measurements and wire contours and incorporates it into treatment plans, calculations and treatment devices.
• Evaluate the information generated from radiation treatment such as isodose distributions, Dose Volume Histograms (DVH’s) and other data in establishing the appropriateness of the treatment plan.
• Perform accurate calculations for all activities such as beam modifying devices, irregular field, gaps for adjacent fields, and off-axis calculations by using both manual and computer generated systems for treatment delivery.
• Participate in special treatment procedures performed by the department such as Total Body Irradiation (TBI), Total Skin Electron Irradiation (TSEI), Intraoperative Radiotherapy (IORT), Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS), Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT), and other related treatment procedures.
• Provide assistance with the application of specific methods of radiation measurement such as diode, ion chamber, Thermo Luminescent Dosimeter (TLD), Optically Simulated Luminescence (OSL) or any other means for invivo measurement.
• Implement the principles and concepts of radiations physics in treatment planning, written directives for existing treatment modality, treatment charting and in new techniques in cancer treatment.
• Provide assistance with the fabrication and use of patient immobilization, other patient positioning techniques and ancillary treatment as needed for simulations and treatment.
• Ensure the appliance of ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) concept to minimize exposure to patients, staff and others.
• Support members of the radiation oncology team and also inpatients and their families in training and education activities.
• Maintain records, reports and files containing information such as radiation dosage, equipment settings or patients’ reactions and data by using either manual or electronic methods.
• Perform daily and/or weekly comprehensive chart check.
• Perform other job related duties.
