Assistant Consultant Neurology

Principle Duties:
1.To provide high-standard patient care in accordance with the NGHA mission, vision and values in the Division of Neurology within the Department of Medicine under the supervision of a Consultant(s)/Associate Consultant.
2. To provide inpatient care for patients with neurological disorders admitted to the hospital under the name of the Consultant whom he/she works.

3.To participate in the delivery of health care to Neurology patients in the ambulatory care setting under the supervision of a Consultant/Associate Consultant. The head of the Division of Neurology determines the size and frequency of this patticipation.
4. To provide, under the direct supervision of the Consultant/Associate Consultant, consultation service to other divisions within the Department of Medicine, and other departments within the hospital during the regular working and the on-call hours.
5. To perform relevant diagnostic and/or therapeutic interventions and procedures for which he/she is granted specific privileging condition approved by the Department of Medicine and the organization.
6. To participate in the on-call coverage in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Division of Neurology, the Department and the organization.
7. To provide close supervision of the clinical pertbrmance of staff physicians and physicians in Neurology training (interns, residents, and fellows) and Neurophysiology technologists and students as appropriate.
8. To participate in scientific research, contribute into the division and department educational activities and post-graduate training programs, and to serve in committees as directed by the Head, Division of Neurology, Chairman, Department of Medicine or the Executive Management of the organization.
9. To optimally utilize resources, show continuous evidence of self-development and participate in Quality Improvement program of the Department.
10. To adhere to all rules and regulations of the Division of Neurology, Department of Medicine and the organization and to comply with both the APPS and 'PPS.
l l . To perform other relevant duties and tasks as directed by the Division Head or the Chairman of the Department.
12. To coinply with all the professional and ethical standards and express adherence to the Medical Staff Bylaws of the organization.
13. To show the expected, at all times, to patients, their families, colleagues, subordinates and all other members of the healthcare team-

Education:

Graduation from a medical school recognized by the NGHA. Successful completion of a structured accredited Residency Training Program acceptable to the NGHA. Certification by Internal Medicine or Neurology Boards approved by the Saudi Council of Health Specialties and acceptable to the NGHA. Superior or above average performance in areas of patient care and teaching/training activities (E).

Work Experience: Productivity in medical research merits strong consideration. Publications in peer-reviewed journals are highly desirable.
