Job Description
- He/she is governed by the responsibilities outlined in the Medical Staff By-Laws.
- Provide consultation as required.
- Provide high quality of surgical care consistent with his/her experience and based on the approve privileges.
- Operate in the OR within his/her approved privileges.
- Guide residents during rounds and have a clear vision about the cases especially those being admitted under the specialty service.
- Must be thorough in patient’s examination and to have a full understanding about the patient’s status and possible complication and to contact the senior of he/she has any hesitation.
- Participate as 1st and 2nd on-call and to be available for contact at any time while in town.
- Clinical experience should be remarkable in outpatient setting and admission/discharge setting.
- Carry certain tasks including starting and finishing certain surgical cases to be judged by the Section Head.
- Be available to be part of major cases and educational setting to gain more experience.
- Works under the supervision of the Section Head of OMFS or designee.
- Allowed primary care responsibilities as defined by the supervisor who may also take over aspects of the cases.
- May be assigned specific duties within the division with restricted responsibilities.
- Has no admission privilege.
- Attend and participate in all division and staff meetings in the Department of Dental Services.
- Continuously upgrade all academi8c requirements and skills by actively participating in the continuing medical educational program in the hospital.
- During on-call, all admissions and discharges are to be seen by him/her in the ER.
- Maintains the spirit of the team work in the Division of OMFS.
- Effectively communicate with other divisional and auxiliary staff members.
- Education and Research:
- a) Participate in research as required.
- b) Participate as clinical and didactic instructor in OMFS in all training programs as required.
- c) Assume responsibility for own professional growth
- Perform other job related duties and as directed by the Chairman or Deputy Chairmen, Dental Services, KAMC.
Education:
PhD in or Board Certificate in OMFS or related discipline/area from an accredited institution - Essential
Bachelor Degree Dental Surgery or equivalent from an accredited institution - Essential
Must have a valid registration as Specialist in SCFHS.
Work Experience:
Minimum of one (1) year of clinical experience in a recognized institution or equivalent – Preferred
