Job Description
Principal Duties:
- To provide expert and high standard care to patient with rheumatic and related musculoskeletal disorders in the Division of Rheumatology within the Department of Medicine under the supervision of Rheumatology consultants.
- To provide inpatient care for the rheumatology patients admitted to the hospital under name of the consultant in the Division of Rheumatology with whom he/she works.
- To be responsible for the delivery of ambulatory care to all rheumatology patients under the supervision of his/her consultants. Observe residents and clinical fellows, practice or supervise rheumatology procedures, teach clinical skills and utilize polarize microscope to identify crystals when is indicated.
- To make sure of accurate delivery of chemotherapy agents, biological medications and pulse therapy through precise decision, dosing and supervising during treatment.
- To provide, supervised rheumatology consultation services to all other divisions within the Department of Medicine and to other departments within the organization during the regular working hours and on-call hours.
- To perform arthrocentensis, joint injection, soft tissue injection when indicated as per given privilege and learned experienced skills.
- To participate in on-call coverage for the Division of rheumatology as per division rules and regulation.
- To attend all the clinical, educational and patient welfare meetings held by the division of Rheumatology and participate and share all the academic activities of the Department of Medicine.
- To be actively involved in Rheumatology Fellowship Program through teaching, skillful training, of the fellows and continuous effort to improve the program.
- To participate in the quality improvement program of the Department of Medicine through self patient care quality improvement.
- To provide close supervision of the clinical performance of subordinates and to provide them with a role model especially those in training.
- To participate in scientific research, contribute into the Department of Medicine educational activities and post-graduate training programs.
- To adhere to all rules and regulations of the Division of Rheumatology, Department of Medicine and the organization. Assistant Consultants are expected to familiarize themselves and comply with both APPs and
- To perform other relevant duties and charges as directed by the Head, Division of Rheumatology or the chairman of the Department of Medicine.
- To comply with all the professional and ethical standards and express adherence to the Medical Staff Bylaws of the organization.
- To show the expected respect, at all times, to patients, their families, colleagues, subordinates and all other members of the healthcare team.
Education:
Graduation from a medical school recognized by NGHA. Successful completion of a structured accredited Residency Training acceptable to the NGHA-Certification by the appropriate Specialty Board approved by Saudi Council of Health specialties and acceptable to the NGHA -Essential. Fellowship in Rheumatology Program- Preferred
