Job Description
Principle Duties:
- Complies with the Joint Commission International (JC[), College of American Pathologists (CAP) and National Guard Laboratory standards
- To provide diagnostic and consultative services to physicians and patients in accordance with privileges granted.
- Participates in educational programs for the staff, medical technology students, interns, residents and participates in continuing education for laboratory staff and for staff physicians.
- Serves on Hospital and Departmental committees as directed.
- Assists with the development and implementation of new techniques and services.
- Actively participates in the quality improvement program.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the Chairman.
Education: Must be a graduate of a recognized medical school and have American Board Certification in Pathology or equivalent with appropriate licensure to practice (E).
Work Experience: Minimum of two years’ experience in a CAP accredited laboratory after board certification; this may include subspecialty training. Subject to the Medical Credentialing, Privileging and Promotions Committee's requirements.
