Job Description


• Interview patients to obtain information regarding food habits and preferences for guidance in planning diets.
Ensure that all patients' responses and requests are conveyed to the responsible dietitian. Assess patient
nutritional needs, including meal plans, diet instructions, and nutrition support needs supervised by clinical
dietitian.
• Adjust and edit regular and therapeutic diet plans to conform to the patients’ requests.
• Monitor nutritional intervention where necessary and monitors effectiveness of planned intervention.
• Inspect the operation of the patient tray-line set-up and service (i.e. breakfast, lunch and dinner, as appropriate
in the region) to assure the right meal is served to the right patient.
• Monitor during the preparation of nutritional formula for tube feeding to assure the right formula with correct
amount is being prepared.
• Assist in educating patients about therapeutic diets as prescribed by clinical dietitian, if required.
• Participate in the training program for internship and participants of Saudi Career Development
Program (SCDP); the public awareness and education events; and, the nutritional education and
practical training sessions for kitchen staff, as required.
• Liaise and coordinate between dietitians and kitchen for food choices, supplement, oral feeding
and snacks; order and tackle food related issues, as applicable.
• Collect and maintain a record of workload measurement data and clinical statistics on an ongoing basis.
• Review and update the dietary manual when necessary.
• Perform other job related duties
