ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and evaluate electrical drawings, technical details, specifications and scope of work for all projects and as submitted by the architectural/engineering design firms by ensuring electrical works conform to all relevant safety standards, regulating and accrediting bodies’ requirements.
• Conduct inspections and monitor the execution of the projects by the contractors and ensure all electrical works conform to the contracts, safe construction practices and standards.
• Work closely with other engineers/departments on electrical requirement projects. Review electrical submittals, testing, commissioning, outages, project time schedules, on site or off site inspections, etc. Forward these submittals to the Project Technical Representative (PTR) indicating the action code and appropriate comments marked on the submittals within the stipulated period of time.
• Notify the relevant personnel or contractors through PTR of any deficiency or discrepancy found. Produce alternate proposals for rectifications and improvements as needed. Advise the PTR to send Non-conformance Notices to the contractors if there is a failure to correct deficiencies or a negligence in the work process during site inspection.
• Review project time schedule for all electrical associated works and identify the critical activities and sufficiency of resources and time allocated by the contractor to complete the job within the stipulated period of time.
• Verify the contractor's application for interim payments and final payments for all electrical works in accordance with the contract documents and actual work executed on site.
• Review the contractor's claim for additional electrical works or variation orders and submits recommendations to the PTR or Director/Manager.
• Maintain marked up electrical drawings and reviews; verify all as-built drawings or as-built information, operation and maintenance manuals and all other handing over documents related to the electrical discipline as submitted by the contractor.
• Participate actively in the project snagging, testing and commission procedures. Prepare snag list indicating all electrical deficiencies found in the executed works and verify all corrected deficiencies. Notify the PTR/Director/Manager of PMO about all unsatisfactory works and recommends for deductions to be made against such unacceptable works.
• Act as Project Technical Representative (PTR) as assigned for MNGHA contracted or subcontracted project.
• Perform other job related duties.

• Microsoft Office Suite

Education:

• Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited institution – Essential
• Registration with Saudi Council of Engineers – Essential

Work Experience:

Minimum of 8 (eight) years’ experience as Electrical Engineer or equivalent in similar setting/ environment – Essential

Competencies:

Knowledge of International Standards (such as National Electrical Code [NEC], National Electrical Manufacturers Association [NEMA], International Building Code [IBC], National Fire Protection Association [NFPA], and other electrical related standards) – Essential
