Job Description
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct screening intakes and provide family therapy care plans and carry out the formulation and delivery of care plans involving family intervention treatment and/or management of family crisis under the supervision of senior mental health professionals.
- Undertake protocol-based psychological assessment of clients and their families by applying systematic family assessments, self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structure observations, and semi-structured interview with clients, family members and other stakeholders involved in the client’s care.
- Work with child abuse and domestic violence cases including grieving family members. Attend appropriate multi-disciplinary meetings such as Domestic Violence team. Work on family assessments of inpatients, outpatients, day patients or other agencies and schools.
- Undertake data collection, analysis, and production of reports and summaries using Information Technology (IT) and statistical programs. Assist in the design and implementation of service development projects.
- Keep up with all the documentation of quality assurance, progress notes, treatment plans, and log hours.
- Undertake research of evidence-based literature to assist qualified mental health professionals. Contribute to the development and maintenance of the highest professional standards of practice, through active participation in the internal and external training and development programs.
- Communicate sensitive information to patients, their caregivers and families, and colleagues addressing family patterns.
- Participate in the training, monitoring and supporting of new staff or students in psychology and/or family therapy practices.
- Take active part in tutorials of journal clubs and clinical presentations that are within the scope of duties. Attend all clinical, educational and patient welfare meetings including Continuous Mental Education (CME) course and symposia. Comply with all professional and ethical standards.
