Job Description

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct variety of laboratory procedures and analyze specimen using the established laboratory techniques on both manual and automated equipment.
  • Provide accurate laboratory results in a timely manner. Interpret and log laboratory findings in the laboratory computer application.
  • Ensure optimal utilization of resources; implement and document quality control procedures and preventive maintenance; operate and calibrate laboratory equipment, as applicable.
  • Ensure safe, clean and efficient working systems/area; report faults and problems through the appropriate channels.
  • Maintain all records, monitor quality assurance, conduct proficiency surveys, and provide assistance to other areas of specialization, as applicable.
  • Participate in educational and professional growth activities related to the assigned area including continuing medical education activities. Assist in training activities of new staff, residents and trainees.
  • Perform all relevant duties in accordance with the Joint Commission of International Accreditation (JCIA), Saudi Central Board for Accreditation of Healthcare Institutions (CBAHI), College of American Pathologists (CAP), American Associate of Blood Banks (AABB), program’s policies including laboratory and safety standards.
  • Perform other job related duties.
