MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for preparing, labeling and dispensing radiopharmaceuticals for use in Nuclear Medicine procedures, diagnosis and therapeutic including Position Emission Tomography (PET) / Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT).
- Conduct blood product labeling for imaging procedures, monitor in-vitro studies on gamma and beta counters and ensure system update. Provide assistance and advice to Nuclear Medicine physicians on the suitability and range of radiopharmaceuticals.
- Responsible for technical aspects of imaging and non-imaging investigation, therapy procedures and scientific support for technical staff. Prepare reagents to load onto automated radiosynthesis module for the preparation of molecular radiopharmaceuticals. Operate auxiliary cyclotron radiopharmacy.
- Responsible for quality check of radiopharmaceutical kits, equipment and fault diagnosis. Provide specifications for procurement of radiopharmaceuticals and testing. Receive radiopharmaceutical materials for the service. Monitor radiopharmaceutical related inventory and coordinate with relevant staff/department for restock.
- Carry out the daily inoculation of sterility cultures on the clinical radiopharmaceuticals. Dispense aseptically radiopharmaceuticals for distribution to PET imaging facilities.
- Prepare and maintain records of adverse reactions, failed quality test materials, radiation material, handler, disposal of radioactive waste, and incident/accidents related to radioactive materials.
- Perform regular radiation surveys of work areas. Perform general laboratory duties. Assist the cyclotron operator, and actively participate in the audits, training program for physicians and other clinical staff.
