Rehabilitation Aide

• Clean and sterilize clinical equipment and accessories in accordance with established protocols and standards.
• Check and report on water levels / cleanliness / temperature of: wax baths, hydrocollator units, splinting pans and hydrotherapy pool on a daily basis.
• Organize distribution of clean linen and collection of dirty linen; monitoring and maintaining an available stock
• register.
• Collect whirlpool water samples and send to laboratory for assessment of bacteria growth.
• Deliver and collect equipment, apparatus and wheelchairs across the hospital as required.
• Provide assistance to rehabilitation clinical staff to support effective patient care.
• Report general problems in area of assignment to immediate superior for follow up and action.
• Report equipment faults and problems through the appropriate channels, updating status of equipment repair.
• Comply with the Health Information System (e.g. BestCare) procedures for patient appointments.
• Provide general clerical and administrative assistance as required.
• Monitor office and medical supplies; reordering inventory stock when required.
• Perform other job related duties.
